![]() ![]() If players have a hard time looting healing items, then they should be sure to head over to the black market and simply buy some. There is also a myriad of other items that can induce beneficial effects like increasing movement speed, stop bleeding, resisting negative debuffs, and so on. Examples of such healing items include first aid kits and doctor's bags, which should be a fairly common find in the game. Healing items, much like armor and trinkets, can be found by looting buildings or ransacking dead bodies. But aside from passive recovery, there are two main methods to heal squad members: healing items and healing skills. This HP regeneration is a bit slow, but it can still allow the player to heal their crew by waiting for a little while. Unless they are in combat, the game automatically allows them to slowly recover their HP over time. The business route will also allow players to have a secondary focus as they will have enough money to make significant moves against (or for) others. The easiest and simplest way to heal gangsters is to simply wait for a bit. Focusing mainly on developing strong businesses gives players a good balance between friendly and aggressive gameplay options. Alternatively, with the diplomatic approach, it can take much more time to build up an effective gang and be able to attack safehouses. The aggressive campaign is also the riskiest, because if a player's boss dies the game immediately ends. Playing aggressively means sacrificing any diplomatic bonuses, and players can also expect more requests for war. There are, of course, downsides to each playstyle and specific bosses that work better than others. Although building rackets will be necessary, the main focus will be increasing notoriety with strong, hostile moves that quickly take out the competition. Players can run businesses to gather funds for upgrading weapons, recruiting top-tier gangsters, and expanding their criminal empire. To follow this path, players will need to put most of their focus into fighting, taking over rival businesses, and winning wars. It will also allow them to quickly upgrade rackets and promote a gang member to a higher rank, such as advisor or underboss. Making aggressive moves will increase notoriety and make it easier for players to recruit tougher gangsters. Having a business-heavy playthrough of Empire of Sin will grant players the money they'll need to eventually take out the other bosses. Depending on the level of diplomacy players practice, businesses can also be traded or alcohol can be sold for more than it's worth. Angelo Genna has great bonuses for building an empire based on speakeasies, and Frank Ragen is optimal for a syndicate focused on breweries. Depending on the player's boss, some of these businesses can be quite easy to upgrade and expand. There are casinos, speakeasies, breweries, and brothels. However, there are a large number of abandoned buildings to take over that can help grow a player's empire without ticking off rival bosses. Of course, there will still be options for diplomacy or aggression, and inevitably players will need to take out other bosses. This is by far the longest path to beating Empire of Sin.įor this route, players will put all of their focus into taking over or developing fully upgraded rackets. This method will also help keep the cops at a distance because players won't be committing as much crime when they play diplomatically. Players can trade businesses, offer tribute, or perform favors for other bosses to strengthen their relationships. To remain diplomatic and avoid confrontation, build businesses in abandoned buildings instead of taking over enemy rackets. Players have the option to team up with other bosses, which can be very helpful for taking out some of the stronger rivals. Still, there are some benefits to playing nice with the other bosses. Even after an alliance is formed, rival bosses can turn on the player, and their character can end up worse off. ![]() Diplomacy is, arguably, the hardest mechanic in the game to utilize.
